I love Halloween. I get into it and try to find that one costume that no one else will have at the party (i.e. Polygamous family was last years winner). So, in my efforts to put together the newest costume possibility, I went on Overstock.com to look if the infamous red trench of Carmen Sandiego was going to be donned this October 31st.
But I wasn't completely thrilled with what I found and my mind moved to other costume options. However, Overstock, won't stop stalking me! I'm not going to buy that red trench. Its getting to the point of disturbing.
I've noticed on a fair number of sites I've gone to, this is waiting for me:

And I'm not talking one site, I'm talking about 6 or more sites. I personally hate the reminder that everything I do online can be tracked. I'm not sure if I would have preferred to stay in the dark about this fact or if I want to constantly be deleting my cookies/do everything possible to stop it.
Much like in the real world, if you're going to stalk someone, be sly about it. Because otherwise, there's hell to be paid. And by 'hell' in this situation, I mean I'm never going back to Overstock.com, no matter how many perfect Carmen Sandiego red trenches they have.
